Financial Grants and Incentive Schemes Transport Malta will continue to accept applications for grants on the purchase of new electric vehicles, including petrol-powered motorcycles, until the end of December. From 2026, the following grants will be available to the public: Grants for New Electric Vehicles and Motorcycles Scrappage Scheme
The electric vehicles eligible for aid under this scheme are the following: Pedelecs. Undertakings established in Malta. A scrappage scheme is also applicable when the buyer of the new electric vehicle or pedelec simultaneously scraps a vehicle of any category which is older than 10 years from the manufacturing date.
