For single-phase grid integration systems, a high-gain DC–DC converter with less component count is required. This article proposes a new quasi z-source based high-gain DC–DC converter with reduced components, cost, and size, integrated with the micro-inverter for single-phase grid applications along with battery storage.
Micro-inverters, which are trending in PV technology, require the integration of a high-gain boost converter to improve the low rating output voltage of PV modules and meet load demand. A high-gain converter with less component count is required for grid integration systems.
The proposed micro-inverter's performance was validated using MATLAB/SIMULINK tool. The simulation was designed to test the micro-inverter under variable operating conditions. This resulted in a total harmonic distortion of 2.05% and an efficiency of 98%.
